BTS' V is no short of male fashion goals his laid back but classy style helps him stand out as one of the worlds most followed male artists

By Julianne Babaran

It's no surprise that one of the most handsome male artists also bags the title of having one of the best fashion style as well. As the one of the vocal members and part of the Visual 'Bermuda' line, there's good reason to believe there's something really special about him. Taehyung is no short of an entertainer even when he tries not to be, his charm and talent all culminated in complimenting in the building of their fandom empire, ARMY. With a towering height and eccentric personality, you can expect his style to be just as unique.

There's a running joke amongst the fandom that the member dresses like a stylish old grandpa, it's uncanny at most but looking at his outfits, you would understand why. The singer is particular with his fashion in that he dresses how he likes, which from his outfits can be deduced by comfort, class and laid back. A quick search can show he loves the classic Western vintage look. His style and aura is one that attracts the attention of anyone's gaze, the kicker is, anyone can emulate it as well.

Style in not meant to be gate-kept and so in this article, we will breakdown the common style elements the artist wears so you navigate this 'Tata' world of style easier.

Tops : Loose Button Downs

Red Pinstripe Button Down

Nothing says class and effortless than a preppy but loose polo shirt. Particularly button down ones. Tae loves a loose fit so as to be more relaxed and not attract a tight silhouette to his figure, it makes your torso appear bigger without too much effort.

You can never go wrong with a brown tone button down, the color and fit can easily adapt to many different kinds of aesthetics with the flexibility of wearing it formally as it is or as a cover up button up for a relaxed feel or tool for layering, this item captures exactly what mean.

Floral Polo Shirt

There's no style he doesn't explore with this type of top. On vacation, you'll see him in floral or patterned style. A short sleeved one is better for a hotter climate. Make sure to choose ones with a less structured and hard fabric for more comfort.

If we beat you to the button ups, check out our B&W printed floral top. V styled it just as he did below. There's not much to do with this type of style and fit, the whole point is to where it on vacation with just the thought to relax, and this style definitely lets other people know that as well.

Layered Tops

Beige Vest Top

To dress up a polo or top, you can always add a vest. It's the male version of women styling with a cardigan. Though it can go either way. V like to layer vests and other jackets, doing such adds texture and builds a complimentary color palette.

A beige knitted one is more in trend, see what we mean here, this style is more stylish and fit to the trend of knit but having it in such a color, it's impossible to go out of style. Imagine cottage core meets  light academia, aesthetic, fitting and timeless.

Green Knit Vest Top

Wearing ones with contrasting colors and a tighter fit makes it more vintage looking and classy. Having a tighter fit makes it more formal looking and preppy see how the vintage style hat looks more natural?

Below he styles his outfit with green tones, our light suggestion is to go brown and classic. Check it out here to see how you can get the look below but a different tone.

Bottoms : Wide leg pants

Brown Wide leg Slacks

What is more comfortable than pants? Wide leg pants. V is almost known for rocking the loose silhouette in many occasions, such as in dance practices, casual wear and all other events that aren't official. The style is not common for most but they give a relaxed and upper class feel.

Brown wide leg pants with pleat detail

In addition, a slack style or a formal fabric dresses it up without feeling too uncomfortable which is most likely the reason he loves to wear them. Look how the bottoms don't look out of the place even though it's for an official event? There are kinds with a pleated detail on the top which creates a ball design.

It's very beginner friendly even a hit pairing would look ostentatious, a lighter color gives a classier and lighter look and gives a nice contrast to loud and bold tops if you'd like the attention to stay there, all while keeping comfort, find our comfiest pair here

Shorts

White Chino Shorts

These kinds of days are rare to come by but styling so is a sign for a relaxed and humid weather. Wearing a solid color, matching your top and bottoms makes it more cohesive and put together. If your top is tight fit, it might be good to match it with your bottoms as well.

Black Dry fit shorts

One trick Tae uses to look put together is to follow a cohesive theme. If the look is casual, match it with an equally casual top. Not too much mix and match with styles as it may seem messy. In addition, adding sunglasses can elevate your look so as to not took too casual.

Coats : Trench Coats

Simple beige trench coat

The most famous piece of clothing in Vintage style is trench coats. V loves to wear them in all different types of occasions. He loves neutral ones in the tones of brown and black for that classic look. Styling such can be dressed down with sandals, or wide legged pants for that casual chic silhouette.

Black Button Trench coat

When thinking of Taehyungs style, something along the line of this outfit is what pops in our minds. Trench coats are supper classy and this one is particularly very formal, there are blazer type ones with a more relaxed shoulder but following a more formal and dressed up look is the way V is known to style them.

If you live in a climate where this coat is fitting, we highly advise you cop this coat, find the link here. The reason being, the classic style is slowly dying and not in a good way, with the rise of baggy and super casual wear, timeless pieces such as these take a back seat even though they can be more effective for warmth without sacrificing style.

Relaxed shoulder gray trench coat

If this is too formal for your lifestyle, here's another version that is more relaxed. A relaxed shoulder with a loose fit will make your outfit softer and more casual. You can still keep the element of class and the overall trench coat vibe without seeming too ostentatious.

Find this piece in our store here. We're getting busy and focused young adult vibes in this coat, perhaps it might be the missing piece to getting your life together.

Hats :  Berets and Caps

Black Mohair hats

Keeping in the theme of uniqueness, the expensive style follows in head wear. V likes to wear fitted Mohair type hats as opposed to other kinds which are more common. He makes sure to use it as a muted accessory rather than a main piece.

Brown Berets

Neutral berets won't stand out but they will certainly make you more unique. Fans and surely anyone loves when people accessorize using uncommon items. Wearing one in different types of events won't look out of place especially if you use neutral colors.

Plain white snapback caps

Snapbacks or caps are always going to be in style, he wears them on vacations or while out exploring somewhere. Apart from a handy tool against the sun, a cap can complete the laid back look if you find the outfit too simple.

Shoes : Sandals

Black Chunky slides

Tae loves having his feet exposed even in cool weather, but to not attract too much attention, he opts for chunky slip on sandals/ slippers such as these. The comfortable pair don't show off too much and its wide size goes well with a baggy or wide leg pants.

Black Chunky slides

Getting black ones such as these almost don't look too far from an actual shoe. The chunky pair styled with wide leg pants is a step up from joggers and sneakers as the shape is more clean cut and relaxed. Also making it look like you didn't try hard enough as comfort is evident without compromising style.

Loafers

Green loafs

If you already got a pair of sandals and want something more dress appropriate, loafers are his next most used shoe style. We suggest exploring and opting for a complimentary neutral color that goes well with your wardrobe. Here he wears a green colored loafer than compliments the color of his outfits, see how he styled it below.

Brown classic loafers

To make a look work, you have to be confident in what you're wearing. Loafers will give the extra boost to set you apart from others but you can dress them down if necessary. The preppy pair is not limited to formal styles only.

Accessory : Scarfs

Checkered scarf

More accurately, printed scarfs. The give a pop of color to the neutral and masculine colors of blacks and grays. Mix matching prints is a playful and creative way to add illusion and flow to the look.

Printed or designed scarf

Bold colored ones are not common and thus will make a look expensive. Having too much of one color such as his coat in the photo below will drown your body, make sure you have accessories to show some proportion.

Satin Scarf

Scarfs are not limited to warmth, a silk fabric or one will a lighter feel can be used as a decorative neck scarf. Notice again how he paired the colorful accessory with a muted neutrals and the beret like we mentioned? He surely is very consistent with his look.
But! In any case you don't care about the scarf, it's important for us to let you know that you can get this blazer if that's what caught your attention, find it here
