What kind of products or services do you want to promote?
If you are using a company's products to make your own income, you want to make sure your partner / 'the company you are promoting' is a company to trust.
What Criteria To Look Out For When Choosing Which Brands To Promote
You should be selective with which brands to promote because if they are paying your salary and earning you an income, they should be brands that protect the affiliate.
As an affiliate, you are technically bringing the company sales.
These are criteria that I look out for when selecting which programs to promote:
- A high average order value
You want a high AOV product to promote because its easier to make a decent passive income. For example if the products you were promoting were only $20-30, and you were given 10% commissions, you would only make $3 for each sale you bring in.
However, if the company's AOV was a $100 or $200 on average, you would be able to make $10-20 from each sale alone.
- The company should be affiliate friendly
This means that the company's terms are favorable to the affiliate. For example, if the affiliate brings you a lot of sales, is the company actively reaching out and engaging the affiliate? Does the company track commissions transparently using software?
