Stray Kids- 2017
Jihoon made an appearance as a YG trainee during the JYP vs. YG battle on the fifth episode of JYP Entertainment and Mnet's survival show Stray Kids in 2017.
YG Treasure Box and TREASURE 13- 2018–2019
Jihoon appeared in YG Entertainment's new survival show, YG Treasure Box, in 2018. He was initially not chosen for the main group, TREASURE, but on January 29, 2019, YGE announced that he would form a second group from the show, called MAGNUM, of which he was a member. The groups would promote as TREASURE 13, but would eventually split into two units. Unfortunately, the debut was postponed due to scandals surrounding the agency.
New debut plans- 2020
On January 6, YGE announced the group's future plans on their official website. This included reorganizing as a 12-person group and combining the two units, TREASURE and MAGNUM, into a single group called simply TREASURE.
