Kai (카이) was born ad raise in Seoul, South Korea. His birth name is Kim Jong-in and born in January 14, 1994. He is the second EXO member who signed contract between SM Entertainment. After winning the 10th S.M., Kai joined the company. At thirteen years old, I won the Youth Best Contest in 2007. He stated that Shinhwa inspired him to become a singer. Kai was the first of the twelve Exo members to be publicly introduced through teaser trailers. On December 23, 2011, he released his first teaser. In the following three months, he appeared in twelve more trailers and made his first televised appearance with EXO-Luhan, M's Chen, and Tao on SBS's Gayo Daejun event on December 29, 2011. In early 2012, Kai graduated from the School of Performing Arts Seoul. In 2019, he joined the SuperM supergroup with Baekhyun of EXO, Taemin of SHINee, Taeyoung and Mark of NCT, Ten, and Lucas of WayV.
