- MJ made his debut on February 23, 2016 as one of the members of ASTRO, with the release of their first mini album Spring Up.

Fantagio announced on January 28, 2022, that MJ would be taking a break from all activities due to health issues.

Military service

Fantagio announced on April 9, 2022, that MJ would be joining the military band on May 9, 2022. On May 31, Fantagio announced through ASTRO's official fan cafe asking fans to stop prank calling his military base. He will be discharged on November 8, 2023.
